The Lunch on the Ledge is back!
Take a beautiful hike to the Great Ledge where you'll enjoy breathtaking views and a nice spot for lunch. This 1-mile round-trip hike is great for kids and novices alike, but note there is some elevation and uneven ground. The payoff is spectacular, and we should be able to enjoy peak foliage. (Alas, no dogs allowed.)
Hikers may park along Dayton or Tudor Roads and enter the trailhead at 82 Dayton Road any time between 12 and 2 p.m. to pick up a brown bag lunch prepared by Pignone’s Redding Ridge Market. Redding Scout Troop 306 will give a short talk at 1 p.m. on scouting's Outdoor Ethics rules, which help protect the trails we hike.
Tickets must be purchased by October 17 so we can place the lunch orders. $15 for lunch, drink and a backpack to carry it all. The rain date is Saturday, October 26, 12 to 2 p.m.
